provo half marathon

last saturday i ran my 3rd half marathon.
it was down in Provo and i thought the course was going to be horrible. up and down and up and down again.
I got there, put my bib on the shirt, my timing chip on my shoe, and my earplugs in my ears and my garmin turned on just waiting for the go.
About a mile into the run, i looked down at my garmin to see what pace i was going and decided then that i  wanted to beat my previous time. which happen to be the same time as the last to half marathons, 1 hour and 51 minutes. so you can understand why i wanted to be it, just by one minute.
So i picked up the pace to the mile marker guy holding a stick that said "finishing time 1:45" he was the man i wanted to stick around. plus he was cute. nothing can make your 13 miles of running better when your looking at someone that is pretty good looking... though music pretty much has it. Anyways ran with him for a few minutes when i decided what the hell. lets push it a little more and pass him.
so i did.
then this chick with an orange shirt passed me and i decided to pass with her. not have her get to far in front of me.
then came mile marker 11 which said " 11 miles. this is nothing since you cant feel your legs right?" so true
i felt like gumby.
mile mark 12 came and i was catching up to orange shirt girl, eventually passed and then finally crossed the finish line.
my finishing time?
1:43:13
i beat my previous time by 8 minutes, i was running a mile in 7.7 minutes. In my age group i was 6th out 88 and overall i was 65 out of 667.

all this deserved a delicious breakfast.
Great Harvest cinnaburst bread french toast

counting down to the next marathon so i can eat this again. memorial day State Capitol Half marathon
