im on a date.

i went on lunch date yesterday. i met him on tinder. apparently tinder is where its at. he was cute. we had a good conversation. we ate at roots cafe. a place that i have always wanted to go. i have biked by that place many times. we both ordered breakfast. thank you presidents. i had a omelet. he had a something. i forgot. but i do remember him saying vegetarian sausage. yes. he is a vegetarian. so we talked about that a little bit. because i love tofu, but i also love my turkey sandwiches and salmon. he also mentioned to me that he doesnt eat sugar. little did he know that i had a bag a brach malt ball eggs sitting in my bag. i love sugar. i love sweets. i love meat. so if you couldnt tell by those last remarks a second date probably isnt in our future. i am kind of wishing i mentioned to him while he said to me that he doesnt eat sugar, that i pretty much always have some kind of sweets in my bag. i am a woman and women need their chocolate. we need to keep the world balanced. without chocolate all hell would break loose. i dont even know how those women who are lactose intolerant live without chocolate. its just crazy.

im on a date. part 2

im a little late on this post. but i figured i would still share it. so a few weeks ago i went on a date with a guy a met online. you know the one that only talked about running. just in case you forgot you can read it HERE. so that date happened on a friday. sunday he texted me to see if i could go out again the coming weekend. i said yes, but as the weekend got closer i wasnt very excited about it. the constant talk about running was a turn off. i love running but i dont like talking about all the time. some people at work ask me about it, it last for a few seconds then the subject changes. anyways. saturday night came. he picked me up, we went downtown to a indian restaurant, which was really good. but you could tell he didnt have it all planned out, because he couldnt remember the exact location of the place. only that it was on main street. well it wasnt on main street. a few minutes later we found it. parked and walked to the the place. while we waited for our food, we talked about other things besides running but i found that all our topics of conversation went back to running. that was annoying. thank goodness the food was divine so i just continued eating the food and this restaurant played an indian movie behind him so i watched a little bit of it. after we were done we walked up main street to see on off broadway show called "sort of the rings" it was great. i dont think he enjoyed it very much but i thought it was hilarious. as the show finished up we were walking back to the car talking about broadways and the fact that i wanted to see the "book of mormon" i dont think he liked that either. oh well. i really dont remember our conversation on our way home. it probably was about running, since he admit that when one talks about running, that is all he can talk about. finally we were walking up to my door and i said my thank you's, i had fun, goodnight as quickly as i could. i was finally in my house and i told my roommate all about the date. as i was talking to her, my date sent me a text message "JOCELYN! im so sorry" i had no idea for what. but apparently he called me the wrong name when i was so focused on trying to get in my house i didnt even notice.

now fast forward a week later. i came home from the gym after work and found a box by our front door. i thought it was my roommates, i looked a little closer at the box to see who it was for and it was for me?!?!?! me? what? i had no idea what it was. so i looked at the box a little closer and it came from a flower shop in california. i opened the box and their were these beautiful flowers with a note from runner boy. it was a such a nice gesture but unfortunately i wasnt interested.

hopefully i will find my prince charming. heres to hoping and wishing and praying. put me in your prayers people. put me in your prayers.

im on a date.

Last Friday, I went on a date. I went on a date with a guy that i meet on an online dating website. Even though that's the "in" thing to do when you are 28 years old and live in Utah, it still feels. I guess, weird.
Anyways.
I had fun. We met half way because I live in Salt Lake, he lives in Happy Valley. We ate at one of my favorite places. Though it sounds gross right now. But the one and only, Cafe Rio. The conversation went great. Though, I realized we talked mostly about one certain topic. The one thing we have in common is that we live a very active life style. We are crazy runners. Though he is a lot and i mean A LOT faster than I am.  He cycles. I cycle. He swims. I swim. He loves the great outdoors. I love the great outdoors. He runs marathons. I run marathons. I cant really recall our conversation being about anything else. He did tell me what he does and that he lived in Southern Utah. I'm not going to lie, I don't remember what he does. I told him where I work and what my plans are with going to PT school. Then we talked about where we are from. Nothing exciting there. I currently live on the street that I grew up on until my family moved when I was 10. I currently live next to my childhood's best friends parents house. Kinda weird. But I love my neighborhood. anyways, back to my date. I felt like the conversation was pretty much all about running. running. oh and running. Though as of right now. I liked him. Our date ended when our belly's were full. I think I would say yes to another date. So I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. So here's to more dates in the future with this online dating thing.
Pray for me.....

the weekend.

i have a few posts about a certain half date. well friday night the "half date" boy texted me asking if i want to go out on a real date saturday. i said sure, but im going to the utah game. he wrote. "awesome, how about we go to chilli's with a few guys from my drum line. we go there after football games. i hope you dont mind they drink, but they are funny." i said sounds good, because i dont want to be "that" girl. but i ended up being that girl. and for that part of it, it comes up later in the story. i will feel bad if he ever happens to read this, but if so. really? really? back to the story. as my friday night went on i kept thinking about this so called "real" date. saturday came, i went to the game with Jessica and Ashley and told them. it seriously was a hangout. not even a date. and the whole i hangout with friends that drink kinda bugged me. so i was being "that" girl and told a little lie that family stuff came up and that i would have to take a rain check on this "real" date.  after said and done, i felt so much better. and my night was even better. i did something i dont think i would have ever thought of doing. silence dancing up and down gateway. whats silence dancing? the new mob dance. all you need is your ipod, headphones and some sick dance moves. got some crazy looks from people, maybe embarrassed a few people that we know. but you have no idea how much fun i had. now thats not just it, there is more. whats would top this? witnessing a mob dance. and not only witnessing a mob dance, but confusing one. saturday night, was a awesome night. Now onto sunday, i wasnt really excited about going to church. dont get me wrong, i love learning about the gospel but "half date" boy is in my singles ward. one oclock came and i decided just to go to sacrament meeting, which is last. got in their right before it started. i sat down in the back row next to my brother on the end of the bench. thought i was in the clear. nope. "half date" boy walks in, sits on the end of the bench next to me. i crossed my legs the other direction and pretty much sat like that for the rest of the meeting. meetings over and i am gathering up my things and he comes up and says. "so what happened?" me trying to be sly, and said "my little brother needed me... pause..... he is getting ready for his mission and he needed me. im always there for him" (WORST LIE EVER, and im the best liar in my family. btw thats something im not proud of..) he goes "cool" and tells me we can reschedule. i tell him im pretty busy the next two weeks. i explain my plans, which included vegas ragnar. i explain what ragnar is and he tells me you must love running to do that. i said yep. i love running. continues to stare at me while people come up and say hi to me. Im trying to start another conversation with someone so that he would go away but i failed every time. then i said "are you going to get some pancakes?" (we had a mingle after church) he tells me yes and i said "i hate pancakes." then i headed for the doors with him following behind to go and talk to someone that happened to serve the same mission that my little brother was called. start talking to him and i see "half date" boy storm to the gymnasium. what an odd duckling.

sorry to dog you "half date" boy. but seriously. a real date is not hanging out with your buddies that drink..

half date.

A few weeks ago my roommate threw a little party and I met this boy. Just had a casual conversation. I wasn't really into meeting people that evening. But he came up to me and we talked and talked. Got my number and said he would call. Not expecting anything because I have given my number to boys and they don't call. So when I give my number out. It's nothing to me. Well last week he texted me. And today we went on a dinner casual dateish kind of a thing. Half date maybe. We went to costa vida. Never ate there. Got a sweet pork quesadilla. Yummy. I will go back. But not as good as rio. We got our food and sat down. I had a side of salsa with my quesadilla and as I was getting the tray out of the way I knocked my salsa in my lap. Oops. No big deal. Embarrassing but no big deal. Wiped it off and starting eating and talked about the military, politics, health care and the nasty cool things in see, and the church. Now I will tell you one thing irate about costa vida, it's there ice. I had an ice water and I guess there ice likes to form one big ice cube. Well I went to take a swig of water and more water went onto my shirt. In my head I went. "for heaven sakes!" but I just went to my half date. "it happens every time I wear a white shirt." which it does. Like again no big deal. Continued talking and shortly after we wrapped things up. I said thank you and he asked me if he could take me on a real date. Well hue said he would call me Wednesday. I guess we will see. Like when I give my number to boys, I don't expect much. I just thought it was funny that I kept spilling on myself and I really was nerves or anything. Just shows you how clumsy I am.
