the keys

your probably wondering what this story is all about. "the keys" what does that have to mean? everyone tells you when you need help to kneel down and pray or you ask someone else to pray for you and eventually sometimes sooner rather than later you pray is answered. well i guess you can say i had that experience today. call me cheese but someone upstairs is seriously helping me out. let the story begin. today i went and spent the day with my aunt julie and my two cousin who are in town from san francisco. we spent the day down at the new city creek spending G's like nobodies business at h&m, forever 21, cotton on, steve madden, etc. now i tend to be a pocket stuffer rather than put things in my purse, i knew one of these days it would get me into some serious trouble. and apparently today was the day. all i remember today was seeing a glance of my keys, i dont remember where or when. just remember being at city creek when they were in my hand. note. i did not drive to city creek. us four girls finish our shopping and meet up with my other cousin (my aunts son) at nordstrom rack. i tried on a few things then went to paige and said "he lets go get these yummy mint chocolate malt balls at deseret books. so we ran over, got a bag then ran back. after we were done at the rack we went to the patagonia outlet and sat down on a couch waiting for one cousin to finish looking around. while walking out to the car i seriously was regretting wearing a skirt, sandals and no warm clothing whatsoever. my aunt could tell that i was cold and we still had time to head to cafe rio to meet up with everyone so she mentioned that we could stop by my house to get a sweatshirt. of course i said yes. dug my hand in my purse to find no keys! i looked in my shopping bags, i shook all my bags. no jingle. so instead we went to my parents house began to dump things on the ground. no keys. started calling the stores i went to into. no keys. oh and by the way. i have no spare. big no no. yes i did cry because all i was thinking was $$$$$$$ maybe this was a sign that should not spend money. i dont know but i was seriously stressed. i gave up on the stores and called a toyota dealer. asked them what i needed to do and pretty much towing my car, resetting my key thingy and then getting a new key plus a spare would be around $200. yikes. of course this all goes down when the rain clouds come in and its freezing cold and pouring rain. so my mom being motherly unlike my father who bailed with disappointment hands me her keys and tells me to go down to city creek and trace my steps. i hope in her care with my purse and as i am about to walk out that door i say under my breath. i hate this why does this have to happen. i get in my moms car and before i start the engine for someone reason i looked in my bag again but instead i looked in the little deseret book bag that was holding my mint chocolate malt balls. and low and behold i saw a little shiny thing that looked like a key. i went back into the house and i looked at my mom and told her that i found them. my aunt told me as i was walking out the door that she said, we need to say a pray. as my aunt said that my mom told me that she was saying to herself, please let her find her keys. even though i didnt do the praying. someone else was praying for me and that help that i need was given to me. because i really wouldnt have looked in my bag again. because i dumped everything out earlier. so for all you no believers that your prayers have not been answered, pray a little harder, be more humble because eventually your prayer will be answered maybe not as fast as others but eventually it will be answered.

forget me not

General Conference is once again upon us and it tends to come at the time i need it most. I love this time of year. i get to hear from wonderful woman and men in the church to reaffirm my beliefs and a doubts and to build my testimony so that i can return to him. Last night the woman of the relief society had the pleasure to hear from President Uchtdorf (my favorite). I felt like this man was talking to me last night. His talk was about a flower, but not just any kind of flower. a forget me not. he used that flower and its five petals as a metaphor on five things that would should "forget me not"

five thing that we should "forget me not"

forget not to be perfect
turn your weaknesses into strengths. Stop punishing yourself. Be compassionate and patient with yourself.  god knows that you are not perfect.

forget not between a foolish and great sacrifice
Am i committing my time most to something meaningful?

forget not to be happy NOW
do not wait for you golden ticket. don put your life on hold till your ticket is found. realize that you are blessed in other ways. LIVE A RICH, WELL LIVED LIFE

forget not the "why" in the gospel
we often forget why we do things with the gospel. sometime we get caught up in do somethings with that church that we forget the why. seek out the beauty of the why of the gospel.

forget not that the lord LOVES you.
you are not forgotten. He loves you because you are his child.

thee hand shake

today was like any other thursday. i work up at 7:00am to head into work. got my cream of wheat with brown sugar from the kitchen. got to my floor and quickly went to work. The day went by so fast because i was by myself for half of it.  It was around 4:30pm when myself and another employee took a patient back to the Patient Tower (we are in the heart and lung). we made a short cut through same day surgery and just as we about to turn the bed left to the employee/patient elevators i get this warm feeling inside me. i seriously have no idea why, then i see this man in a nice suit come out of where we were going. he takes a step back, looks at a person that was behind him then keeps walking. the next minute President Monson is standing right in front of me. I think he could tell that i wanted to say something because he slowed down. I  stopped pushing the bed and asked him if i could shake his hand ( but in reality i wanted to give him a hug, which i did almost ask him) he reached out his hand and gave me a nice firm but comforting hand shake. and as i shook his hand i began to cry and told him. "ahh your making me cry." and he smiled to me and said "oh dont cry" before his body guards whisked him away. After that for a good 15 minutes i was in light tears, if that makes since. I had to call my mom as soon as possible to tell her what happened. That feeling that i got with being around him i wanted to come back. Seeing him and feeling his strong spirit just reminded me how much i love my heavenly father and that i know that he died for us. That our church is the true church, and that one day i will be with him again. It also reminded me of what i need to be doing here on earth. Going to church every week, paying my tithing, going to the temple weekly, saying my prays and reading my scriptures and just keeping that commandments. The feeling i had today will be added to one the many best feelings i have ever felt in my life. I still cant believe i shook hands with the man that goes into that little room in the Salt Lake Temple (people remind me of the room) and prays to and is told what to do first hand by our heavenly father. what a spiritual, powerful feeling i felt from him (even before i actually saw him). Today was seriously a great memorial day.

2 months

two months ago today i entered HIS house. I made a covenant. Its weird to think that i have been going inside HIS building for two months now. a few years back i dont think i would be where i am now. Wearing garments is still a challenge especially with the warmer months coming. But when wearing them it reminds what promises i made, i think of what each marking means and just what the meaning behind the garment is. and who knew how comfy they would be and how uncomfy it would be when im not wearing them. i feel naked when im at the gym or out running. I love having HIS house as my safe haven, an escape from the pressures of life. I dont have to think about what i have to do or what things that i regret not doing or anything negative. Once i enter HIS house all that flutters away and i know that all that matters is knowing that HE loves me no matter what. That I live my life with love, courage, caring, kindness, respect, happiness, desire, faithfulness, service and selflessness so that i can return to HIM. and i seriously cant wait to return to HIM with his arms open wide to greet me. but i know that day is not yet.

"My brothers and sisters, temples are more than stone and mortar. They are filled with faith and fasting. They are built of trials and testimonies. They are sanctified by sacrifice and service."
