little red riding hood

two weekends ago my mother and i headed up to logan, utah with some of my mothers ward friends to bike in little red riding hood. little red is known to be the biggest all female bike "race." i wouldnt say its a race, others might treat it like one. they dont time you and they have numerous stops where you can refuel with candy, oreo's, pb&j sandwiches, fruit, and gatorade. then they have one major stop where you can sit and eat subway that they provide. its pretty much a big girl party. no men are allowed to bike. but it was fun to watch the men support the females along the route. they have set routes that you can bike. 16, 38, 50, 80 or 100 miles. my mother and her ward friends biked 50 miles. i went for the big one and did 100 miles. i have only bikes 60 miles on two separate rides in one day and the fact that i had a marathon the following week made me nervous about 100 miles but when i got to the split where the 50 milers went right and the 80 & 100 milers went left i felt pretty good so i went with the 100. the view of where i got to bike was beautiful. one day i will just drive up to logan and take pictures. the grass was so green and the sky was so blue. ahhh just gorgeous. i wish i had my camera with me. maybe next year. actually no maybe, i will be doing this next year and the year after that and the year after that. this was so much fun. even though i had no one to ride with which is okay by me. i really dont talk when i am working out. i feel like im not pushing as hard as i could be because i am distracting myself by talking. plus the view was to amazing. well if any of you start biking i would definitely recommend little red. though you have to be on your computer when it opens up because it fills up within hours. but i would do it! its a party.

  1. ah! I wish I would have seen you! We could have ridden together. 50 miles by yourself is boring!
