december 2nd

four years ago this autumn i was working at a CCT in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. I took care of one patient for a good four months. I got to know this patient very very well and became close to her and her family. i will not forget the 4 months that i took care of her and i will not forget walking into work on the morning december 2nd to the news that she had passed away earlier that morning. i went to her funeral and have stayed close with her kids. this last week her oldest daughter asked for my address. i didn't know what she needed it for. but i wasn't too concerned about it. friday after i came home from work i received a package. it was from the daughter. what was in the box was a card and a baseball signed by Madison Bumgarner, pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. my favorite baseball team. she knew how big of a fan i was and ran into him a few times and got his autograph. i love this family. i will forever love this family. i think of this family every year and i know because of him, our savior that this family and every other family will be reunited and be together again.
