nyc: part two
TGIF! i set my alarm to go off at 6:00 am to go running. running you say? yep in central park. loved it. probably the best part of the trip. got back ate some of my fruit and got ready for the day. Jessica and i head up just a few blocks to the GE building, rockefeller square. wait in line just for about 10 minutes to go to the top. Top of the rock, is what they call. can i say, the best view of the city. my favorite by far. just see the pictures yourself. no need to go up to the empire state building. we chill for awhile, soak up the view. another one of my favorite parts of this trip. about and hour later head back down stairs to look at the farmers market they have in the middle of rockefeller. tried some home made jelly, bought about 4 jars. so good, totally better than smuckers. take my jam back to the hotel and then head a about 5 blocks south to grand central station. look around, take some pictures. then hop back on the 6 to NYU/Washington Square. get off at Astor and walk just a few blocks to washington square. take some more pictures, take pictures for other people. then we sat on the edge of the fountain with are feet in the water just soaking it all in that us until the wind started blowing the mist of the fountain in our faces. dried off and saw this guy painting a picture of the arch. watched him for a little bit, told him how awesome he was then asked if i could go sit like how one previous person was sitting before they got up and left so he could finish that part of his painting. i felt special. then jessica and i treked our way south to find Dean & Deluca. love this place. a cute little market/cafe with the best sandwiches, pastries, blondie brownies. everything is good. got a sandwich and shared some sweet potato fries. then the shopping began. at least for me. James Perse, Lululemon and Madewell. three favorites. after that couldnt take soho anymore, that place is beyond crowded. headed a few blocks east and was welcomed to Little Italy. love little italy, the street of mulberry is closed for two blocks its all green, red and white. lights and decorations everywhere. guys out on the street trying to talk you into eating at there restaurant. all i wanted was a real authentic brick oven italian pizza. why? because once you have tried it, dominos is yuck. we walked up and down and then found our place. the guy had a italian accent, who knows if it was real and he was quite good looking. ate out on the street, i have yet to go to italy its on my buckets list but i felt like i was in Italy. jess and i shared the four cheese pizza with italian sausage. tooks some pictures again and made our way up mulberry street on the hunt for rice to riches. a dessert place the sales different flavors of rice pudding. found it. tried it. now i am hooked. i got an epic with catagory 5 carmel and honey graham cracker rice pudding. i knew this was my last trip to this place. finished our treat and got back on the 6 to our hotel to call it a night.
